Craig Morgan’s big break came in 2003 with “Almost Home,” his first Top Ten hit on the country music charts and the first single from his 2003 album I Love It. He followed up I Love It in 2005 with My Kind of Livin’. His highest-selling album to date, it has been certified gold in the United States; it includes the single “That’s What I Love About Sunday,” which spent four weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts and was named as the top country single of 2005 by Billboard. My Kind of Livin’ also produced the #2 hit “Redneck Yacht Club.”

Danielle Peck’s first single from her debut album, “I Don’t,” peaked at #28 on the Hot Country Songs chart. Peck released her self- titled debut album in June 2006. The album peaked at #23 on the U.S. Billboard Top Country Albums chart and produced two more Top 30 singles in “Findin’ a Good Man” (#16) and “Isn’t That Everything” (#30). She has been featured in People magazine.

Diamond Rio made its debut in 1991, with the release of the single "Meet in the Middle." It reached Number One on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts, making Diamond Rio the first country music group in history to top the charts with its debut single. "Meet in the Middle" was followed by 32 more chart singles throughout the band's career, including four more Number Ones: "How Your Love Makes Me Feel,” "One More Day,” "Beautiful Mess" and "I Believe." To date, Diamond Rio has recorded seven studio albums, two Greatest Hits compilations, and an album of Christmas music. Three of the band's albums have achieved RIAA platinum certification in the United States. In addition, Diamond Rio has received four Group of the Year awards from the Country Music Association, two Top Vocal Group awards from the Academy of Country Music, and 13 Grammy Award nominations.

Kenny Loggins is best known for a number of soft rock and adult contemporary hit singles beginning in the 1970s. Originally a part of the duo Loggins and Messina, he has also recorded as a solo artist and written hit songs for other artists. In 1977, Loggins went on to produce his first solo album, Celebrate Me Home, which included the hit "I Believe In Love.” Loggins also wrote the song "What a Fool Believes" with Michael McDonald. The following year he and Michael McDonald wrote “This Is It,” which helped cure his ailing father. The song earned him a Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal. Over the next decade, Loggins recorded many hit songs for movie soundtracks. This began with "I'm Alright" (peaked at #7 in the U.S.), "Mr. Night" and "Lead the Way" from Caddyshack. Hits followed with "Danger Zone" and "Playing With the Boys" from Top Gun.

Preserving Mableton’s Past, Present and Future

The Friends of the Mable House is an organization dedicated to the preservation and reconstruction of the 1840’s Mable family home and outbuildings. The group strives to keep alive for our community and youth, the history of Cobb County’s Native Americans, pioneer families, the Civil War and the beginning of industrialization.

On October 4th, the Friends will host the Mable House Fall Gala on the grounds of the historic site. Entertainment begins at 6:00pm and dinner will be served at 7:00 at a cost of $100 per person. Honorary Chairpersons are former Governor Roy and Marie Barnes. Honorary Hosts are Senator Johnny and Dianne Isakson. Governor Barnes will be the guest speaker. Guests will have the opportunity to bid on silent and live auctions throughout the evening.

All proceeds will be used for scholarships for field trips and heritage summer camps, special presenters, repairs to the historic house, restoration of the original well, and additions to the site. Sponsorship levels are available. For more information, contact Mary Anderson Hill at 770-944-6250.
